Order check rules is a powerful tool to make rules based on order tags or SKUs. For optimal workflow, it is important that orders are packed correctly, and that information and messages are not lost.
In some cases, order check rules can overlap in functionality with packing notes and virtual products.
Here are just some of the situations when this functionality is useful. The use cases are endless.
Use case 1: Adding coupons for new customers
An order is tagged as a new customer, and you want to attach a welcome letter with a coupon or discount. This helps the packer make sure it is added when completing the order.
Use case 2: Showing a message to the packer in a pop-up dialog
If the order is tagged with VIP, the packer can be informed about this, and act accordingly. Customer support can also add notes to an order if they have had contact with the customer. Just create a rule for the tag “tnote” (example), with a message “Really important information in the timeline notes” and add this tag to the order.
Use case 3: Add a product manual or recipe
In case you have products without manuals in the product packaging, a note can be added to make sure packers include it.
Use case 4: Temporarily add something with a product/order tag
The note system can remind packers to add a voucher during a marketing campaign.
