Scan screen→Menu→Picking lists/Packing slips
This is a very resource saving function where you can pick and check at the same time on a mobile device. No waste of paper.
Batch picking allows you to pick multiple orders at a time. It will group the products from the selected orders, and sum them up so that you pick the same product from multiple orders, wasting no time running around. At the end it creates a picking batch where each order in the batch can be checked.
If a batch picking is abandoned, or you want to continue at a later point, you will find it in Incomplete picking batches.
Select the orders you want to do on-screen batch picking, and click on the monitor icon. This has changed since the video.
It can look like this (depending on your settings):
Under the scan input field, it lists all the orders that is selected for this batch.
Order list in heading

---|---|
Order# | Open a view of that order, and you can edit the packers note. This is very useful if the picker needs to make a note on that order |

Clock icon | Indicate that it's a timeline note on this order (if timeline comments are turned on in Settings→View). Click to view note |

At last, it sums up the total quantity of items in this batch.
All products on these orders will be listed. It also ungroups the virtual products/bundles.
At each product line, it lists the orders with this product, and the quantity for each order. If using picking boxes, it will also show the picking box number between brackets. The green round pill shows the available inventory quantity in Shopify, and the blue icon after that allows you to put a picking note on the batch. These two are turned on in Settings. See useful settings below.
Scan or enter as you normally do in the scan screen. Manual scan can be done by clicking on the two last icons on the line.
When all lines are completed, it creates a batch that can be processed in the Picking batches, and these orders are marked as picked (printed).

Use picking boxes
Picking boxes makes it possible to assign one box to each order in your picking trolley. This means that you can put items for an order directly in an assigned box. This will speed up the order checking since they will know which box on the trolley that contains an order. The picking boxes will be assigned numbers from 1 to the number of orders in the batch. So if there are 8 orders in the batch, they will be numbered from 1 to 8. These picking boxes will be shown between brackets in the header, and also on each order line. It will also be shown in the picking batch overview when the packer will check and pack the orders in the batch.
Picking notes
Picking notes is a useful feature that allows the pickers to make notes regarding product issues they find during the picking process. This can for example be inventory notes like that inventory does not seem to match the recorded inventory in Shopify, or that it needs refilling. This is set up in Settings→Picking notes. In order for this to work, the email(s) needs to be specified there. After this, a picking notes icon will appear at the end of the product line. The note is sent by email to the specified recipient(s) when the batch pick is completed.
Assign workstation to check picking batch
The feature allows you to assign a workstation to check the orders in the picking batch. This simplifies the workflow, and makes it easier to figure out which batches are present at a packer station for checking. In order for this to work, you need to turn on Settings→View→Assign workstation to check picking batch. You also have to define at least one workstation in Dashboard→Workstations. When this is completed, a dialog will appear when the batch is completed where you can select the workstation and an optional note. The note can also be used to identify the batch. This information will be shown on the picking batches overview screen.
Identifying picking batches
Since the picking batch is done electronically, there is no print of picking batch# to identify the batches left on the packing stations. Here are some tips on how to simplify this workflow:
- Use post-it notes. Write down the batch# shown at the end of the picking, and put it with the batch items at the packer station.
- Use a code lock. The code lock can be set to the last three digits of the batch# shown at the end of the picking. This should be enough to uniquely identify it. The code lock is then left with the batch at the packer station.
- Use Assign workstation to check picking batch. By using this functionality, the user will see the picking batches assigned to the workstation he’s on. If the batches are placed in an ordered line, he will start from the oldest, which is the first in line. You can also use numbered badges, and write this badge# in the note field where you assign workstation at the end of picking. Leave this badge at the packer station with the batch.
Scenarios
During the picking process, you might come to a point where a line cannot be completed, for example, one or more of the ordered items are out of stock.
One or more orders cannot be completed due to missing items
- Write a packer’s note on each order where the order cannot be completed. This can be accomplished by clicking on the corresponding order# in the heading, and then edit the packer’s note.
- Click on the trash bin icon for the corresponding order. The order and related items will be removed from the picking batch.
Inventory discrepancy
- Use the picking notes feature described above to write notes on the products.
